In this section, summarize the studies you reviewed for your chosen track and in the text. Summarize the ways physical, social, and environmental factors influence aspects of personality psychology throughout the course, and explain how related views have changed over time. Explain conclusions you can draw based on that research and text material. (The Literature Review Template you filled out for Final Project I Milestone One contains much of the material you need for this section. You listed the studies you used in APA format on the worksheets, so you can paste those formatted references onto the reference page of this template. The worksheet required you to discuss how various factors influence personality psychology, so use that information in this paper. You also discussed the historical significance of the study on your worksheets, so incorporate that as well.)
Describe the specific research designs used in the studies you reviewed and how those designs were used by the authors. Explain how the studies addressed ethics, using examples from the articles, and discuss how this ties into the historical view of ethics. (The template required you to talk about the design of the studies you reviewed for your chosen track and to discuss the ways in which the researchers addressed ethical considerations. That information plugs directly into the requirements for this paper.)
Research Design
Explain the research gap you identified after reviewing the previous studies and state your research question. Describe the way you would design a study to address the gap and answer your research question. Explain how you would address any ethical issues and how this plan was influenced by historical factors. (Your Research Gap Worksheet from Module Four and the Final Project I Milestone Two discussion from Module Five contains much of what you need for this section. On the worksheet, you identified a gap and shared your research question. In the milestone discussion, you also laid out your research design and discussed the ways that you would handle ethical issues. You will also receive feedback on the discussion from your peers and instructor that will help you further improve this section when writing this paper.)
FEEDBACK FROM PEERS
From Heather I read your post, and I like what you are looking at. Outside influences are something that can shape a person, especially in childhood. And when the parent is involved, it has a lot more impact on the child. Your topic choice is one I would love to see be addressed in more than a hypothetical study. I did have a few questions. How and where would you find your participants? How many and age group you would be looking at? And any ethical issues that would be addressed as per APA Ethical Guidelines?
From Dylen Great Post, I would say a Case study best fits for you because in a case study you can study people in great detail while you can’t do that in a correlational study because that is designed for a much larger study preferably large scale self questionnaires which is less reliable.
From Sarah
All research shares the common goal of validity and reliability (Pervin, 2019). Is your research able to be replicated? Remember that ethical research must be conducted. Make sure to mention that written consent was given by the parents and the research is explained in detail the treatment of the subjects and the recording of data (Pervin, 2019).
Professor comments
Our environment is very influential when it comes to personality. Upbringing, home life, school, and other big parts of an individual’s life can play a role in personality development. As you research this track more in depth, consider how parenting, siblings, experiences, childhood friends, etc. may impact personality traits. Also, consider this question: can personality traits be learned? As you assemble your final project, consider how your hypothetical research design can address the gap you identified and answer your research question. Also think about the potential contributions to personality psych that exploring this gap can bring. As you review the information within these articles further, consider how they relate to your hypothetical research design, what ethical concerns are posed, and what contributions the research presents.
Conclusion
You are not required to include a formal conclusion, but you may do so if you wish to tie your paper together. Proofread your paper carefully for grammar, spelling, and syntax before turning it in. You may use the Smarthinking tutoring service prior to handing in your final submission. Pay careful attention to in-text citations and references, which should be done in APA format. The references page in this example shows how to properly format your text as a reference.
Your title and references pages should be separate pages with nothing on them other than those elements. Use 12-point Times New Roman font, one-inch margins, and double spacing, as shown in this template.
